When I have my pm SIM in LG phone everything works good but for some reason I've tried two different Motorola phones and doesn't work to send and receive calls at times. Works good to text message. Other times it works good to call, and leads what is wrong?

I tried a dialer, tried a different SIM card..

Intermittent faults are the hardest to troubleshoot.  I maintain that the SIM card should be okay if it works even once and especially when used on a different phone.  I would focus the efforts on the phone and phone apk in particular.  I have never owned a Moto phone, I am not sure if they use the google dialer or their own dialer.  If they are not using the google dialer, you might want to give it a try.

If you are adventurous, give the pixel dialer a try as well.

Try other sim in Motorola to see if non public mobile sim works or not this will help you to figure out if its hardware issue or not

Must be hardware issue I'm guessing, tried factory reset.

If sim was working in LG then that's prove sim and plan is working fine more likely those Motorola need a proper setup must be missing apn setting here's a link for apn

Also if that doesn't help make sure LTE toggle is on also once you insert sim reboot the phone as well
Also check on this website if your phone compatible with public mobile

If phone is compatible and those suggestions doesn't help then do a full backup of phone and do a full factory reset just if that resolve the issue

Moto g4 plus, xt1641. Could be that it's software but I tried factory reset add tried custom Rom and what not. Same story. Is it possibly the SIM card, or hardware? Sometimes when I receive calls the phone freezes up and I can't hear the other guy and nothing works till I reboot the phone than all works good again

I don't know if it's just coincidence but my wife told me that she was having signal problems throught the day today on PM and she has a Moto X Play phone.

Please provide model numbers for the phones that are not working?  It will help with troubleshooting suggestions.  My first impression is that the phone has some kind of software issue affecting the phone app.  In terms of hardware compatibility with the Public Mobile service, the very fact that it works even once means it is compatible.  Intermittent performance points to a software bug.
