My $30 package with 20 Go mentions that minutes and data are unlimited everywhere in Canada AND USA. I take I have to turn on roaming for this but won’t be charged extra?

Most currently used phone do not have a setting that specifically turns on or off raoming (or at least not one that is labelled that way) other than for data roaming. The data roaming setting mentioned earlier does need to be turned on to use data, but that setting will have no effect (won't make any difference) for calls or SMS text messaging.

Hello @Stillanomad
I had a similar plan a while back. What you have to do is one, make sure your phone is on the VoLTE white list of Public Mobile. Two, when you get to the US, make sure data roaming is turned on. Third, go to your network settings or carrier settings and turn off automatic. In my opinion, as well as many others here, T-Mobile is one of the best networks down there. So click on T-Mobile, then reboot the phone. Your phone should remember this setting each and every time you enter the US. Remember, Public Mobile is a prepaid service. You prepay for what you want. No extra or hidden fees.

@Stillanomad If you have the us/can plan, you need to turn on data roaming for it to work. That said, you will not be charged any additional fees on top of your “prepaid” subscription amount. There are no extra or hidden fees to ever worry about. Hope this helps
