@Brianb1010   did you end up calling the 1-800 number?  which way did you go for?

The 800 numbers are for Snowbird Advisors Insurance in Ontario.  The 1-800 numbers are on our travel policy.  Seems to me they would be receiving thousands of calls from policy holders that are travelling in the USA.

@Brianb1010

This is gonna sound antiquated, but I've got an option.

Find a payphone, (seriously, some areas in USA still have these surprisingly available) try calling the number from that.

Toll-free numbers don't require change.

Have you tried the alternate number on their website?

1-877-251-4464

@Brianb1010

I just tried that company's 1-855 number and their experiencing very high call volumes and are advising customers to use their website to contact them.

Sorry 😐

Give their website a try.

It is often the case that toll-free numbers can only be called from the country the business operates in.  They would have to pay extra to have the number accessible from other countries.

@Brianb1010   You can call back other Canadian number  without issue?

I just tried and using VoIP app works, so, maybe you can try it as a workaround for now.

yes, when you are in US, some of those 1-855, 1-800 might not work

Also, since it is a toll free number you can also try to call from a US landline or from friend's US mobile and see if it works

@Brianb1010

That is strange if you and your wife purchased roaming. Maybe Create a Ticket with a PM CS_Agent to look into it for you by clicking on the SIMon chat button.

Meanwhile try calling the 1-800 number at your hotel or where you are staying.

@Brianb1010

Those numbers your trying are probably only toll free and accessable from within Canada.

Edit...

Try putting a +  in front of the number instead of 1.        @Brianb1010

or you want to post the 1-888, 1-855 numbers for us to try to see if we can call in Canada?

Yes, both my wife and I have purchased the US roaming package.  It is in place.   We have both tried several calling several 1-888, 1-855 numbers from our cell phones unsuccessfully.

@Brianb1010

Do you have a US roaming package yet?

No roaming, no calling.  Sorry 😐

If you have access to free WIFI, then try using a VoIP app for calling and texting, it free for some of them.

@Brianb1010  do you have US roaming?  Even you have, Some Canadian 1-800  numbers are "free" and work  only when calling from Canada.  That could be the reason

Just download VoIP app TextNow, pick a Canadian number, you can call US and Canada for free

Fongo will work as well
