CRTC BBB and my CC will be notified

UrbnRzqr

I've PM'd a mod a couple times, posted a couple threads here and haven't recieved any response.

Unfortunately I'm not going to beg for service.  PM has taken my money and not provided the service. Some text messages  are going to my PM sim and other to my Zoomer sim.

I will be submitting a complaint with the CRTC tomorrow.

IMEI is from the old days of CDMA when your service was tied directly to your phone(since CDMA doesn't use SIM cards).  I think most companies don't care what phone is on your account anymore so they don't update the IMEI on your account every time you get a new phone.  It's always best to use the account number to port a line.

Also, the mods have been known to change the start date of your plan to when they fix your problem so that you don't actually lose any of the 90 days.  I hope someone can help you today to resolve your issues.

I gave them the correct IMEI number but it obviously didn't match what zoomer had on file.  Possibly from different hardware in the past not sure.

I read in one of these threads that this has happened to others and that the best way to port is to use an account number.

Your situation is unfortunate.  CRTC won't do anything. Complaints about phone companies should go to CCTS.  The website for CCTS is https://www.ccts-cprst.ca/ . CCTS will really just ask you to work it out with Public Mobile (I realized that you've been trying).  They can issue an order that Public Mobile needs to abide by but that is longer into the process.  But even if they did force Public to do something, it would only be that they fix your porting issue to get your service working,  or for Public to issue your a full refund (and to transfer the number back to your Zoomer service).

BBB actually has no legal juristiction nor authority over anything.  Any conpany can just completely ignore BBB if they wish.  BBB just provides a medium for the two parties in the dispute (in this case you and Public Mobile) to discuss the issue and does keep tabs on company's history of disputes.  I will agree that it is in Public's best interests to try to satisfy you.

As for a credit card chargeback, that is the right of any credit card customer.  You would need to inform the credit card company of the situation and they can and will reverse the charges.  They will, however, urge you to try to resolve the dispute with Public Mobile first.  In the end, you would get your money back though if you told your credit card company "service paid for but not provided".

If you do get a refund from the your credit card company, please realize that CCTS would likely consider the matter closed, as you would have already received your moneys back.

Not the be "that guy", but you stated in your original post that you gave the wrong IMEI number, which would indicate that PM had an issue fully porting over your number.

You also mentioned you PM'd a mod (awesome!) and were instructed to tag a mod if your issue wasn't resolved the next day. I did notice that no one actually told you how to do that in your original post. I don't want to assume that you've looked around the forums at all, but seeing as you're threatening CRTC and BBB, something tells me you're very well versed in how to help yourself obtain the information you need to get what you want.

In any case, here is how you tag moderators. It's right at the top of the forums on the main page.

Perhaps you could try that and see if you can't get your issue resolved tomorrow. There's no need to beg for service. You do however require patience as mentioned before, they are extremely busy right now due to issues with the system and the promotion. It is what it is.

Good luck.

Sorry you aren't happy, there is a large back log going on and hopefully witht he system maintenance that happened this weekend it will help with some of the issues people are experiencing.    The one thing people must realise when signing up for PM is that it is entirely web-based and instant service is not guaranteed.  For people that want to have a call centre and walk in customer service need to know they should stay with current provider and be willing to pay the Tier one pricing.
