CPO phone "Great" condition

Hi,

Has anyone purchased a PM CPO phone in "Great" condition?

Just trying to figure out how "Imperfect" the phone is.

PM website lists "Great" as:

Great:
These phones are just a couple of nicks and scuffs shy of perfect, but have passed all inspections and are the best opportunity for a great phone on a budget.

Thanks.

Just to add on a bit here... one of the biggest concerns about buying a used phone is its legitimacy.  For example, although many sellers on Kijiji are legitimate, some products sold may have been stolen.  There is a blacklist checker online, but it may not get blacklisted fast enough for a seller to resell.

If you're curious about the blacklist checker, it's here: 🙂

@webhead888 All refurbished phones come from Telus as they own PM. I expect the conditions to be pretty good even on the lowest grade. They're not using a sketchy, 3rd party like some refurbished products on Amazon, Best Buy, etc. You'll save more on 3rd party, but there's likely going to be more issues with the product over time, they have an super short limited warranty of 90 days, (compared to 1 year here on PM) and you'll have to take a gamble on the 3rd party stuff.

Overall, avoid 3rd party unless your budget is super tight.

I will share with you my experience. We purchased a phone which was listed in "very good" condition, the lowest of the three grading options.

The phone came packaged in a box and was in great shape. There were virtually no blemishes on any part of it and it has operated fantastic for the past year.

I'm thinking if the phone you're looking at is listed in "great" condition, it likely is very much in great condition.

Good points!  Somebody told me once - a refurbished phone, as long as it has a "decent" warranty, are usually as good as new because after a month of using a brand-new device, we're going to have small scratches/etc anyways.  Hmm... true.  I've ordered stuff from Ama*on before used/returned and have always been find with the quality rating even though I couldn't inspect it before.  Hopefully @webhead888 will have a decent experience too. 🙂

@webhead888 There system is Like-New > Great> Very Good

But honest, it's YMMV.  2 Phones in the same category could be quiet different.  Also, it's order and shipped online, so, we don't get to ask them open couple boxes  and choose the one with the best looking  😞

But, as said above, there are 30 days to test.. so, test it out and return if you don't like it.

Please note shipping time varies.  If you don't receive the phone within 2 weeks, you might want to open a ticket with PM to confirm the status of the order

@webhead888  - condition is subjective to the person rating it or customer receiving it, I would think.

But if you are hesitant and what want to buy one, the warranty and return policy seems pretty good.

On a separate note - the Phone Store accounts are separate and not connected to other Public Mobile accounts.  In other words, if you haven't bought from them before, you're opening a new account.  Phone Service, Community, and Store accounts are all different... it's confusing and frustrating for some people, but realizing this, you'll be able to buy the phone without trying to "reset password" when there's nothing to reset!

I can't say I have, but many others are generally happy with their refurbished purchases.  There's a 1-year warranty on all Public Mobile phones + a 30 day Money Back guarantee so you have options to send it back if you don't like it.  If you're really curious, you can get it to take a look... if you don't like it, send it back!  🙂
