@Kavi218 Ah, that explains it then. The way you did it was one way to work around that. Another way is to port out (e.g. to Lucky Mobile) and then port back as a new customer. Another way is to renew into the $30 plan temporarily, which will unlock the $35 plan.
Glad you figured out a way to get the plan.

My plan is $36 so I cannot 😞

@Phil_Adelphus Yeah it does seem that the 90 day subscriptions complicate this process even further. That's too bad.

@DennyCrane Makes a good point, make sure first to log in to your account and go to "change subscription" to see the options there. In my case I'm offered neither of the $35 plans and my current plan is a 90 day one that works out to $34/30 days. I suspect it's because the plan was $40 for 30 days so the 90 day discount isn't taken into consideration. I don't have any wish to change at this point though but it's seems it's very much YMMV.

Did you not have the option to simply renew into the new version of the $35 plan? I was able to change from the $35/50GB plan to the $35/75GB plan without issue. The only time I've seen it restricted is if your current plan is $36 or more.

Oh, I was not aware of this. I was just contacting PM to ask how to port your number from one PM account to another. I don't care too much, would rather have the better plan than keep my number
yesterday
@Kavi218 You can only do it that way if you don't need to keep the same phone number though, since you can't move a phone number from one PM account to another.

I got a plan for $35 last month. But I also wanted to get this week's boxing day deal because it's the same price but has way more date and adds US and Mexico. So all I did was cancel my first plan and then I used a different email address to create a new account. So i basically stopped my first account and began a second one so I could get the boxing day deal

@Nina2011 A word of caution, if you try the workaround bear in mind that the idea is that you do a "change now" to the $30 plan and you will be charged $30 immediately, there is no refund for what was left of your current plan. Then the suggestion is that you should now see the $35 plan in your change subscriptions and you should select it with the "change on renewal" option immediately before the promo expires. If you wait until renewal day it may be gone, and if you do a "change now" for the $35 plan then you will again be charged immediately (the $35) and lose what was left of the $30 plan as well as your previous plan.

Update: This plan is available for new and existing customers. However, if you have an existing plan already priced at $35/month or higher, you won’t be able to downgrade (thanks P!).
HOWEVER–there is a workaround if you’re willing to spend money or have credits. Downgrade instantly to the $30/20GB plan. Once that completes, upgrade to the $35/75GB plan instantly or at your next renewal date.
