Once switching to public mobile my son's blue tooth doesn't work with the sound. It causes a lag in the video.

It works fine before switching networks

The lag is common on wireless earbuds running on Bluetooth 4.0 or earlier.

If the phone and buds are running Bluetooth 6.0 there is less lag.

Wired buds have no lag.

Nothing to do with PM. It is phone issue.

Try to play/listen something FROM the phone through bluetooth to eliminate issue - is it a phone or PM network.

Try a reboot of the phone. 

Network reset of phone 

Disconnect son's bluetooth device and try to reconnect.
