It’s my first Black Friday as Public Mobile customer. I’m curious to hear your thoughts on what to expect?
As many assumed, the actual Black Friday brought an update to Black Friday deals on some providers. Fido/Koodo/Virgin are now offering $34/60Gb with US calling. Virgin went even further with their $39 plan, which now offers astonishing 100Gb. Freedom, on the other hand, added 25Gb bonus to their plans - $34 will give you 75Gb (Canada-US-Mexico), but only for the first six months.
I know in the past Public often matched the deals with Freedom specifically. The temporary bonus thing is not usually how Public conducts business though, so I wonder if they will even bother responding. In any case, current customers will almost definitely miss out on a bonus like this.
So far, Public Mobile Black Friday plans appear to be available to current customers, but the deals are not very enticing. Especially $29/10Gb Canada-US-Mexico - barely an improvement over regular $29/20Gb Canada-US plan.
Could $34/60Gb and $39/100Gb appear on Public website later today? What do you guys think?

@Pvkom26 I don’t think PM gonna match that , they have had 50GB $34 CAN/US and 60GB $34 already and they are 5G speed plans . So i think they believe CAN/US /MEX 50GB$35 is the ticket that most will want even though it’s $1 more . Virgin is only 4G speed and Koodo got that covered with 60GB $34 too so I think PM happy where they standing with $35 plan

UPDATE:
Koodo joins Fido and Virgin.
All three are now offering $34/60Gb and $39/100Gb plans.
I expect Public Mobile to match these before the end of the day.

I think they will be forced to. Other providers haven’t been very active over the last 8 days or so. But this morning we see some interesting deals from them, and Public is losing potential customers by not adjusting.
Last year was a bit different where other providers were more agressive throughout the week leading up to BF, and Public was trying to keep up by matching them multiple times.
$34/20Gb went to $34/30Gb and then to $34/40Gb, if I remember correctly.

An update: Fido already matched Virgin’s $39/100Gb, but only in some physical locations. Mobile Syrup website mentions Costco specifically.
The author of the article mentions that Virgin limits the definition of video steaming to SD. I’ve never heard of anything like that. Sounds weird. Is it like, on every website?

@Pvkom26, I have a feeling what we are seeing for promotions from PM is as good as it's going to get... the other brands have rolled out their new promos but we really haven't seen anything more since the addition of Mexico (which was a nice addition). I'd like to be wrong but it seems PM is not so eager to match the others lately
