NicolasMW

Hi!

I would like to replace my credit card information with my debit card information, to avoid to pay the transaction fee that Telus is supposed to invoice its customer as of October 2022. The thing is my debit card is not a Visa. this not having a CVV number. Is there a way around, ir another possibility to pay the invoice not using a card?

Many thanks& Happy Thankgsgiving!

Nicolas

I am really sorry, we accept only VISA debit or credit, there is no other way around.

You can always pay with vouchers.

If you have any other questions , I will be at your disposal.

Mastercard (credit) and American Express are also accepted.  For the question asked about non-Visa debit cards, while never advertised, Mastercard Debit should also work.

I would not rush to change payment method from Visa to Visa debit. There are no plans nor announcement that PM will follow parent company to charge a fee.

Other way to pay for renewal is to buy a voucher and add funds that way to your account.

Do not rush and do not create extra headache to yourself for no reason.

@NicolasMW

If you're only reason for wanting to change your payment card is because you are worried about the merchant fees being charged your bill payment.....for the foreseeable future you should have nothing to worry about as Telus has announced they have no plans on charging their merchant fees to public mobile customers.

Additionally Public Mobile is prepaid service so it would have to be itemized on your bill before you pay it. If in the future at some point in time public mobile decides it will pass merchant fees on you will receive 30 days notice yet email or text message informing you of this change to your billing payment and it will be itemized on your bill and your invoice and your payment history.

If you still wish to pay for your public mobile services out of your bank account you will have to apply for a Visa/debit or Mastercard /debits (not all MasterCard/debit cards work at pm) from your bank to be able to use it for a pre-authorized payments at public mobile.

PM accepts both credit cards and VISA debit.

You should be good to go.

However, you may wish to await to see if the merchant charges TELUS may elect to charge will trickle down to Public Mobile.   It may or may not.

Happy Thanksgiving back to you!!!
