Hi all, I tried using my cell this morning and it wasn't working so I checked online and my account was disabled because payment had not gone through. Today was my billing date and autopay didn't work even though it was activated and my credit card is in good standing. I processed the payment manually and the account is reactivated but I'm wondering if this is going to be a regular occurance. My husband and I both activated our accounts at the same time and his autopay failed last month.

Yes there are a lot of things they need to fix but they are definitely lying when they say it's impossible to put the rewards back on the account. It maybe impossible to the mods currently but if PM wanted it fixed it would be changed to give mods authorization to add credits.
They probably don't want to do this because so many people would ask them to do it even though it was user error not system error. Mods would have to spend way to much time figuring out who had an actual claim vs who is trying to scam them

The rewards program is specific to the activation process, and must be completed at that time. There is no way around it. I'm a victim of this issue as when a friend used my number, it 'wasn't' a "Public Mobile" number at the time. It was a timing issue, as I had recently ported in, but the system didn't yet recognize it.
I found out why via the moderator team, and the moderator gave me a pretty good extra credit for the problem to be resolved. That friend is still on PM.. and looking to close his account as he now has a work phone.
With all the MAJOR issues around account activations and renewals and various other things, I just don't know how you fix everything, and in which priority.
Also remember, sometimes, errors are not system issue... in some cases, it's user error 😞

@Lyne autopay failure is seen often on the forums. how common it is, is really hard to say. i would say 95% of the people don't have issues.
I have encountered it on 3 of my lines on seperate occasions. while others have never encountered it.
yes my suggestions defeat the purupose of autopay feature but they ensure that you wont lose service.
If the budget alllows switching to 90 day plans will lessen the number of payment cycles. again its a workaround vs a solution.

My original post was mostly to find out if this is a common occurence with Public Mobile. Worst case, I will have to set a reminder each month to check the account and manually renew. I would rather not have to worry about making the payment every month, but, if autopay is not reliable, what other choice is there.

Thanks for the suggestions but
1) We each have seperate credit cards even though they are linked to the same account so that is not the problem.
2, 3, 4) Whats the point of having an autopay system if you have to manually do it each month?

@Anonymous how does your post help the user?
They have already stated they have and will contact mods and that the original issue was solved. The original post was simply asking about autopay suggestions.

PM why can't you just add the reward back onto the account instead of making customers track the rewards credits they are entitled to every 24 months?
Or are you hoping people will forget or not bother to claim the lost rewards after 2 years?

@Lyne the autopayment sometimes is strange when the same he card are used and renewal is same day.
You could try
1) using a different credit card on one of the accounts
2) topping the accounts up manually a day or two before renewal
3) asking mods to renew one of the plans a day or two early ( to separate renewal dates a little) and relying on autopay for renewal
4) asking mods to renew both plans manually a day before renewal

Thanks for the information Lyne. I will do the same once they are available.

Yes he contacted the moderators
06-01-2018 08:27 AM
OK thats, did he contact them to get the credit?
06-01-2018 08:24 AM
He didnt get a rebate per say. The failure made him lose his monthly refer a friend reward so they gave him a credit to cover for the next 24 months and told him to contact them again for another credit if he's still a client at that point.

Mine did the same thing this morning. Did your husband get a rebate when he manually paid last month?
