App not working for iPhone 6

Hinny

Hey all!

For context, I'm on an iPhone 6, OS 12.5.7

I just locked into a 90-day subscription plan and have a physical sim card en route. Public Mobile says activation has to be done through the app, but when I hit the log in button I only ever get to a totally blank, white eversafe screen.

Any workarounds here? Is activation possible through desktop? Do I have to download the app on someone else's (newer) phone to complete the activation? How crucial is the app (for someone who just won't be able to access it on their iPhone 6)? Or to rephrase: is the best solution here to buy a newer phone?

Thanks so much in advance!

@BrownBear  To echo @dust2dust  on iPhone go to setting display and brightness. Tap text size and use the slider at the bottom to make bigger in bottom pic .You can get it bigger then that in accessibility option also but try this to start

@BrownBear- There should be settings on your phone to increase font sizes and keyboard size and font. You can also set larger fonts in the your browser. The community will mostly obey the font size. The app will show system font sizes but not in all places and not the browser bits.

Just my two cents worth.

I can’t log into Public Mobile on my older iPad.
I can’t do any part of a subscription on my older iMac or my brand new MacBook. I don’t plan on buying a new iPhone every year.
I don’t like typing into a iPhone as I am now as it is all just tooooooo small.

It would be nice if PM would allow access to older devices to subscribe to a plan, like a tablet, laptop or desktop. The SIM is still here and potentially PM won’t be increasing their clients because of the current options to set up an account.

I can download no problem, it just won't let me log in!

Seems like my best option is to download it on a friends phone and activate from there.

@dust2dust

Thanks! I missed that!

@Hinny

Did you try scanning the QR code for the app to see if the iOS will allow you to download?

@Hinny

Your only option is to have a friend or family member download the PM app and activate/subscribe a plan then have them delete the app once account is completed.

You can login to your account on your computer to manage your account.

I wish PM would create a QR code for the app for the App Store and Google Play store to download the app.

Good to know—thanks!

According to the App Store it should work with ios 12.  It's also compatible with iPad (and iPod that is on ios 12 or better) so if you do need to do it through another device those are options.  I just downloaded it on iPad to check and the app appears to work.

@will13am tried this but no luck.
@Handy1 will try this when my sim arrives.

@Hinny , well that is unfortunate.  Are you able to use a different phone to complete the activation?

@Hinny , try uninstalling and reinstalling the app.  This might help.  A friend also had issues with the app on an iPhone XR.  Reinstalled worked.

@Hinny  No all activations have to be done with the app now . So when you get the SIM card in hand maybe borrow a friends phone to download the app activate the sim . Then delete app a from their phone and you can then manage your account on the website as normal .

add new iPhone 15 ready for pre Oder on Friday @Hinny
