Hello all,

I don't know how far and wide my internet provider covers Canada, but if you're in Southern Ontario, www.start.ca resells both Rogers and Bell internet services.  They may service other areas of Canada - I just don't know.

I'm currently on a cable 30 mbps service at $50/month, plus modem rental, at upto 30 mbps download / 5 mbps upload, with unlimited data.

If you do decide to try this out, they have a referal program, so I'd appreciate a nod (contact me by PM)

I just thought I'd pass along information about this, as the prices have just been lowered due to last months ruling essentially forcing the big guys to stop gouging the little resellers.

If we are recommending internet providers, I'd recommend CarryTel. You have to buy the modem but their monthly pricing makes up for it.

I have been with the for the past year and on their $39.99 50/10 DSL.

They had a issue with oversubscription but that was resolved within a month. but the service was still usable. Got around 10Mbps down.

They are also starting to offer cable internet. $39.99 for 100Mbps

There's also Teksavvy.com, with nation-wide service.
E.g. Cable internet rates in Ontario: 5 Mbps-$24.95, 15 Mbps-$39.95, 30Mbps-$47.95, 100 Mbps-$59.95
No contracts, no bundling, no hassle. Clear billing.  $1/mth discount for each referral  --> Smiley Happy

I should add, the service is exactly like Public Mobile - prepaid.  No credit checks required, and you can pay via credit card or direct debit from your bank account.

Bell and Rogers have pretty much beat up the resellers with their promotions.  Fido offers unlimited internet (60 mbps) for $60 per month (with 3 months free).  I think Bell has a similarly priced plan.  From time to time, even better promotions can be obtained.  I have gigabit internet for $60 with Rogers.

If it is not against the ToS for this forum, I will shamelessly ask for the opportunities for a referral with the Fido service.
