Annoying 3g network message

dnickarz

Why do I have to listen to a minute long message about the 3g network every time I try and dial a number or listen to my voicemail?  It's unskipable and it's very annoying.  I have a 4g phone.

The issue has been settled on my end. I do not need to be reminded every single time I make a phone call or check my voicemail. Why is this not removed from my phone?

Pixel 3a is not on PM's VoLTE whitelist.

Could you be so Kind to show me that 'white list' or PM approved phones.

@Yummy

With Google Pixel phones, only Pixel 4 and above is VoLTE compatible on PM network.  While PM has expanded the list for Samsung Galaxy phones, they did not relax the minimum hardware requirement for Google Pixel

Yes @Yummy

I used the IMEI checker and I got this result

sorry @dnickarz

Pixel 3a is not on PM's VoLTE whitelist.   Once again, you an use the link I provided above to use the IMEI checker to confirm.  But from what I know, you need a newer phone or you won't be able to use voice call

FYI, Manitoba will see be the first province to stop using 3G network, which you phone needs for accessing voice calls.  The rest of the Canada will also see the end of 3G within 2 years

hi @dnickarz

it is not annoying, you should not ignore it.  You need to action!!

you have a 4G phone, but it will soon been not compatible here

Your 4G phone might or might not have VoLTE, and even it has, it likely not supported on PM network.   Use the IMEI checker to confirm if you see a VoLTE check mark for your phone, likely not:

if your phone is not VoLTE compatible here, you need a newer phone or soon, in 10 days, you will not get any voice calls
