If you recently added the Roaming add-on without the data option, Customer Support Agents may allow you to use the purchase value toward the add-on with the data. (presuming you haven't used the existing roaming add-on)
Try to reach them here:
Watch for their response in your Community private mailbox which will be indicated by a number on the small envelope icon to the left of your Community avatar.

Purchasing an add-on after logging in into your PM account is a two-step process. You need to load funds first and then purchase add on.
All countable features will show up on the overview page. Unlimited features show up in Plan Details. ie. roaming talk and text.

@Grancyho buying addon is a 2 steps process
1. Loading fund
2. actual buying
First load enough fund to your account.
Once fund is loaded, go back to the addon page (https://selfserve.publicmobile.ca/Overview/plan-and-Add-ons/ChangePlanLandingPage/?PageRedirect=Redi...) and buy the addon
Once purchase, you can go to the Plan details page to confirm successfully purchased:

Remember US roaming has 10 days, 240 hours expiry. So, leave it till the last moment to buy. Don't buy early
