I've been a happy customer based in New Brunswick Canada and want to add a second phone based in Miami Florida.
I'm under the impression I have to have separate account for that Florida phone as the plan will be different. Any tips or advice would help thanks!

What are you trying to accomplish? I think I have some alternate ideas and others do too. Less cost etc.

If you are thinking of using a second phone/SIM while in the USA as a Snowbird.
I would recommend purchasing a TexNow SIM and pick a Florida area code for $0.99 for FREE calling and texting…no wifi required.
I am a happy user of the TextNow SIM but you need a US address and US CC but they take PayPal as a work around.
There is minimum cost if you want data.

Looking at the recent April 2023 update to the terms, there doesn't appear to be any requirement to use that plan in any majority of time.
But really, I agree with HALIMACS, get a US service for that amount of time. Or just one account, not two concurrent accounts at that cost. But it's not my money.

@computergeek541 the clause can be there, but honest, would they enforce?
Yes, it is easy to enforce, like using half the data in US will be banned, etc. But in case of Snowbird plan, it is for people who goes US for couple months. So, people could be using 100% US data and US calling for 3, 4, or evern 6 months, so is this allowed?
I doubt PM would put in the effort to study people usage over the year.

You'll want to check if there is a clause that says that the service must be used the majority of the time in Canada. Public Mobile plans that include US roaming are meant to be primarily used in Canada.

@Sledheader1 do you need some kind of snowbird plan that allows you to use data and calls in US ?
if so, there is such plan now, supposed to be available for Quebec customers only You can get it with some workarounds if you activate new account (not Change plan on existing account).
if you are interested, check how @Brilliance got this Quebec plan himself, with some help using Prepaid Visa

@Sledheader1 - can you explain a bit more of your intentions? Public Mobile only has services on Canadian area code / phone numbers.

Don’t bother with Public Mobile if it’s going to be used primarily in the USA
Consider T mobile or mint mobile as a prepaid supplier while there.
Way better bang for the buck if you’re looking for reliable calling and sizeable data allotments.

PM serves Canada only. What Miami has to do with that???? Having PM service (with Canadian number) and paying for US add-on will be madness.
If you want to open another PM account you need another unique email. You can pay with the same credit card...

@Sledheader1 .the 2 account will need its own email address . Can’t have two phones on one account . But for a second phone in Miami . Consider a Quebec phone number and get the 40GB $50 30 day CAN /US plan
