Adding 1 time additional data

I need to add data, just for this month.

If I add it (I can see where I can online add 1GB) Will it be applied ongoing?

@srlawrenYou are correct. I'll update my post.

@LovesToPM not to nitpick, but this statement is too broad; the exception is that all US Roaming add-ons expire in 10 days* from the day they are purchased.  I know that this doens't affect @lyndsayv as they are purchasing a non-roaming add-on, but just be careful with your phrasing please as others may read what you wrote and somehow think the roaming ones are non-expiring too.

@lyndsayv this reminds me:  be careful when you purchase, as there is also a 10-day US Roaming 1GB data add-on (for $20), which will not do anything for you in Canada; make sure you purchase the regular 1GB data add-on (for $30).

* really: "up to 10 day" since your purchase date is day 1 no matter what time of day you buy the US roaming add-on(s), and they expire at midnight eastern time on the 10th day.  So the first day is only partial.

This was a huge ah ha for me coming from years of a post-paid plan. I was looking at Koodo and their boosters. Rollover meant to me that it keeps banking minutes or data as you pay for it each month. An attractive feature on its own but it doesn't work that way. Thus...I don't like the term rollover. So I added up the monthly costs for what I'd want with Koodo and discovered this place and set up a BYO plan that was less and haven't looked back. Wanna buy a Koodo SIM? 🙂

No...add-ons are buy once and consume over time.

@lyndsayv so any add-on you purchase will not be automatically added on again.  I think you're wondering if it's like a value added feature where it'll charge you each month until you decide to remove it.  PM's add-ons don't work that way.  When you purchase an add-on like 1GB of data for example, you'll only pay up front for it, and then when the data is finally used up then it's up to you to decide if you want to purchase it again, or something else.  If you have remaining data from this add-on at the end of your month/cycle, then whatever is left will carry over into your next month/cycle.

@lyndsayv  If you purchase that add-on it will stay in your account and will be available until all the 1GB will be used up in cases when you run out of data in the future.

Please note the add-on has no expiry date and it stays in you account until it is all used up.

How much more data do you think you require?

If you only require a bit of data to tie you over until the renewal, then sure the $30 1GB Data Add-On is a good buy.

Add-ons are one-shot purchases. They don't renew automatically.

PM "local" Add-Ons don't expire. The remaining Add-On Data will rollover to the next cycle as long as you keep an active plan.

You can do some calculations yourself:

Cost of current plan + (Cost of Data Add-On / approx months of usage)
v.s.
Cost of upgrade plan with more data

Edit: Note that the U.S Roaming Add-ons expire in 10 days.

if you plan on using a little more then your current plan offers you might be wise to upgrade your plan instead of spending 30 bucks on 1gig I find that way overpriced personaly you can always downgrade again later if you find it's to much data for you

Unused data from a data add on will roll over to next month until completely used.  Next month, your plan data will be used first and if you run out again, the data add on allotment will be used next.

no just the one time you do it
