Add on unlimited text

I just signed up for the $10 plan with PM less than a month ago.  The lady at Walmart said that I could add on unlimited texting for an extra $5 a month, but when I go to "add ons" this option does not exist.  Does anyone know how I can do this?

If you click on Plans at the top and then scroll down to Add-Ons, you will see a list of them.  Unfortunately, there is no text add-on.  But there is a data add-on you can use with a texting app to send more text messages.

Yeah I know the official line but also know the real world experience while away from my home province

@ShawnC13  the official rules state if you leave your home province you can only make calls within that province and incoming call will not work.     reality however suggests that you can receive calls without the Long distance addons (which is contrary to the official line)  the area code does not factor in at all.

When outside your province

  1. Calls made to whichever province you are in are free
  2. You wil not receive calls unless you have a long distance add-on
    1. You will be charged for each minute of incoming call

I don't think that if you travel out of your province and only have province wide that calls will not be received from other area codes that are not from the province you are currently located in.  (that was a triple negative so I think it got back to being the negative I am not sure I confused myself)

@srlawren agreed but that's why when I reply to those questions I like saying both the official and the loophole, so that people know both and can make informed decisions.   But also in the end I would always recommend the long-distance addon as it is great value and makes the provincial calling issue void.

you can still receive any calls with provincial calling with no issues

...as long as you are physically in your home province.

@srlawren that's the official rule, but unless things have been fixed I believe you will also receive calls while outside your home province, you just will not be able to make them.

@mimmo I'd rather err on the side of what's published, as the loophole could be fixed any day without notice.  Let's set expectations accordingly.

@TeresaHawkins PM do not offer any text add-ons at this time. The info you got from Walmart is wrong. The cheapest plan with a text option is for $20 $25 (unlimited province-wide talk and global text).
