I want to buy us text roaming every 10 days but don't want to deal with the chore of buying it.
Is there no way to automate this? It makes the alternative of moving to a competitor appealing.

@tony15 you should just download the textnow app and purchase a textnow sim for $10 and have a free number you can use in the US. just forward your pm number to it
take a look around. they also have data plans

@tony15 You could simply download the TEXTNOW app. You get a Canadian number in your area that allows you to text, call for free over wifi or data anywhere in the world. Even has voicemail when you're not online. The people you contact don't need the app just the number.
Stay safe!

@tony15 how long are you down there for? It might be more economical to pick up a SIM and pre-paid plan from a US-based provider for an extended stay.
I'm not sure how all the competitors work, but be careful with the "roam like home", "fido roam", "easy roam" etc type plans as they have a daily charge (I believe around $8/day for US roaming) and a monthly cap which I think is up around $100 for US roaming if I"m not mistaken (sorry been a while since I looked). So, your 10 days of roaming in the US could easily cost you $80+tax, and even more for a longer stay.

You would have to wait for the 10 days period to expire then purchase another one.
If you need longer term roaming plans then you might consider https://www.mintmobile.com/plans/.
They offer 3 month plans $15-25/month.
