Helping a friend activate PM SIM in preparation to port-in from Koodo. No problems until processing payment (VISA) when the dreaded "Payment Failed but not Charged" message appeared. While debating how to proceed (definitly not going to pay again!) noticed the Activate Now button at the bottom of the page and gave it a click. System gave it some thought then returned a summary page with a Finish Now button; clicked on that and was sent to the Account login-page. @Jeremy_M please note this quirk.
Low and behold an account HAD been created and activated, AND the charge processed! 
Confirmed service, private messaged moderators to port-in Koodo; completed 10 minutes later.
Not sure what the moral of the story is beyond activation can be an adventure at PM. 🤡
BTW: in keeping with my motto Be Prepared there was a landline and a cell phone for backup.
