Accessing Can US Mex $35 Black Friday Plan as existing customer

Hoping to access the Can US Mex Black friday. As I pay $39 per month for Can US plan with 60GB data (more than I use), which is more expensive than the new plan, when I hit change subscription that was not on offer. When my husband also on public looked at change subscription for a Can US plan that was less expensive to the Can US Mex plan, he was able to change his subscription. I got a ticket as someone suggested and even escalated to customer retention, and Public frustratingly said they could do nothing for me.  And there is no Mexico roaming option add on (I clarified with support). So, I'm wondering if anyone has tried change subscription and paying to downgrade their plan (to maybe the 50GB Can US plan for $30/month) and then see if the option for Can US Mex comes up under change subscription once on new plan. I'd rather not do this if it will not work as my cycle ends Dec 5 and will pay out rest of my month and then new plan whole month ($40) just to change to Mexico plan, but if it works that might be worthwhile to me. Anyone tried this? Feeling pretty disgruntled with telecom service today and pubic favoring new customers over existing customers.

@Andrea123 No it's not limited to new activations, but any existing customers whose current plans is => $35 aren't able to directly switch to it. I was in the $34/50GB Can/US plan and I was able to switch to the $35/50GB Can/US/Mex plan.

@K8TMitch  or wait and hope it becomes available to all in a few days. That's usually what they do anyway. Just might be 1 or 2 dollars more.

For all that frustration and avergation, not sure it's worth it.

I went through the escalation process 2x and it was a horrible experience.

@K8TMitch  Only way to get it if support won’t help is to switch to the $30 plan immediately and then the $35 MEX plan should appear in your account , then change to it using change in renewal option . I’ve been telling people this while everyone else said no it won’t work . Now they all giving the same advice . Here’s proof of one OP that followed my suggestion and got it this way .

Downgrade to $30 plan first
