About changing numbers

Lucifer5young

Hello.

I am currently using a public mobile eSIM.

I live in Edmonton, Alberta, and I want to change my mobile phone number to a number starting with 780.

How do I do that?

Also, there is a number change option in the app, but what if I select a number from another city in Alberta (Bonnyville) and use it?

You're unlikely to be able to get a 780 area code Edmonton phone number.  More likely, it'll be an 825 area code phone number.  Keep in mind that if that even if you are able to get a 780 area code number from a different city, that does not automatically make it a local call for others to call you compared if they were calling an Edmonton phone number.  You can actually take a phone number from any available city that you wish.

hi @Lucifer5young

login My Account, click the pencil your phone number and you can choose a new phone number there, just choose Alberta and Edmonton and keep trying.  Each time they will give you couple numbers, it is like lottery

and yes, you can choose a number from city different from your address.  If you like the selection for Bonnyville, just choose it

Hello @Lucifer5young

To change your number, log into your account and click here. I haven't changed my number in 25 years. So, with that being said, give it a try. I do know someone who got a different area code for Ontario once years ago.
