I've tried making a call to Caledon and twice to Mississauga (905 numbers) - the phone states the number is long distance. What's up with that??

As long as you have province-wide calling (or Canada), you're good even if the auto message plays.

As long as it's going through, that's the main thing.
I remember back in the day, I discovered a hack (though not really a hack) at payphones. Whenever making a local call, put in all 10 numbers. It would place the call much quicker, no pausing. Otherwise, it would pause as if waiting for something.

Prefix all your US/CDN numbers in your contact list with "+1", then you won't have the problem.

This is normal. Remember the days way back when, when everyone ony had a 7 digit number for a local call? Well, this is the problem. Not all 10-digit numbers are a local call.
Public Mobile will not charge you for an in-province call, whether it be "local" or "long distance".
To get around this dial +1 before the 10-digits.

Yeah it's happening to me the past couple weeks as well for a few numbers because I never bothered putting a 1 in front of the 905 lol.
But relax, it's free.
