4G/LTE speed super slow?

has anyone tested their cell data speed?

i was told public mobile offers 4g, which is why i transfered from my unlimited 3g network.
however, when i tested my network speed using both speedtest.net and google, i got at most 8mb down and 1.5mb up, which is about 1M down and 200K up.

this is not 4g nor lte! it is only a tiny bit faster than my original 3g network with chatr.

i have tested the speed this morning at vancouver downtown, and richmond in the afternoon, result is consistantly slow.

===========UPDATE===========

After some internet crawling, I figured it's because of my Oneplus 2 is A2001 and only supports the following bands:

GSM: 850, 900, 1800, 1900MHz
WCDMA: 1/2/5/8
TD-SCDMA: 34/39
TDD-LTE: 38/39/40/41
FDD-LTE: 1/3/7

While Telus uses these for 4G:

2/4/5/7/12/13/17/29

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telus_Mobility

So my phone is missing band 4, 12, 17 support, while both have band 2 and 7, band 4 isreally the main one Telus uses for LTE data.

So until I get a new phone, or someone find a solution on unlocking OP2A2001 band 4...

I tried the SIM on my brother's iPhone 7P, the speed is around 15m. Not at all superb, but valid 4G speed.

THat makes more sense now. I thought you had the North American version of the phone.  The best you're going to get is 3G with the Chinese version.

I had the SIM in slot 1.

Do you have the PM sim in slot 1 or 2?  if in slot 2 then put it in 1

It also depends your location and time. The speed varies even you test one after the others. Many of us had done speed test and confirmed it's LTE.

I've set the phone to use PM SIM for data. But for all purposes, I removed my chatr SIM and tested again. Right now the speed is 5m down and 1.56m up.Smiley Frustrated

My speed isnt that bad. When I tested, download speed was 19.22mbps. And my friend who uses Rogers, speed was in the same range.

I was with Virgin before I moved and I dont feel much difference in speed.

Did you remove the chatr SIM and test it? It sounds like your data is coming from the chatr sim if you left it in the phone since the speeds are the same.

What phone are you using?  LTE works fine on my iPhone 6S in Toronto.
