Only the 850 MHz 3G frequency was discontinued but the 1900 MHz 3G is available but calls might be spotty.

But you might look at getting a new phone with VoLTE. Boxing Day specials will be coming up.

You'll only need a new phone if your current phone doesn't support VoLTE, you can check on this page if it supported https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/get-help/articles/volte

you can keep your current plan, fer sure. Getting a new cellphone is as easy as taking the Public Mobile sim out of old cell and install in new cell. If new cell needs esim, download the Public Mobile app to new cell, log in to your account  and buy a new esim for about $5.

yes, you just need a new phone,

your current 3G plan is just a 3G speed plan, allowing you to use PM 3G or 4G or 5G network at "3G speed", which is up to 3Mbps

but are you on the $18 - 250Mb plan? there should be a $18 1GB 4G plan, which gives you more data and faster data at 100Mbps
