Hey folks,
Webb here.
So anyone want to share? Are your 3G or 2G phone calls and texts getting into the States?
Would it not be interesting for your other PM user friends in the community to discover if my original tip from Koodo was correct or not?

Not impressed paid for the USA data, roaming and text and yet again was unable to maintain a connection. I feel ripped off. Never had this trouble when I was a full telus costomer only since becoming a PM customer.

A long term solution and an upgrade/update that will get PM caught up at least a bit would go a long way to havi g their customers used these roaming Add ons confidently

According to Public mobile,
PM will have T mobile 2G network for US roaming.
Voice and SMS text will still work.
Data will work on LTE, but will switch over to 2G to make a call.
However, the quality of service will vary depending on the different coverage areas when roaming in the USA.
Public mobile is monitoring customer's experience with US roaming.
Public mobile is working on a long term solution, but that will take time.

Hello: Again not very tech savvy. It seems strange even to me that a national policy regarding the end of 3G service from Canada into the States still allows individual networks to do as they please. If the Yanks are looking to make 3G phones obsolete, then how do 2G phone still work? And if there is a 2G phone, is there a 1G phone? They gotta be cheaper. Or how about original mobiles that had no SIM cards at all? I have two of those in a drawer around here somewhere. If I could only remember which drawer. 🙂

Hi @Webb I think Oracles got confirmation from PM that voice will still work on TMOBILE's 2G network. Let's hope it is true
