I keep getting a message every time I go to make a call about 3G network shutting down.
How do I get rid of this message???

This morning my iphone wouldn't text properly after I left my wifi, probably because I have a shortcut set to change to 3g when I'm at home because the signal is stronger in my part of Ontario. After I got to work I rebooted the phone and it started working on 5G.
When I look at coverage maps I can't tell if my area should still have 3g coverage especially this one that only shows coverage on roadways: https://www.nperf.com/en/map/CA/-/-/signal

I'm in rural eastern ontario so maybe the shutdown here has begun too?.

HI @Angus1965
just to clarify, the 3G shutdown is happening to Manitoba for now only. The rest of Canada will have 3G for around another 2 years
your phone is older and won't work without 3G. You need a new phone that support VoLTE and that is approved by Public Mobile.
if you decide to keep the same phone, you might want to check out Koodo or Telus instead

@Angus1965 That’s because public mobile has started to shut done its 3G network in Canada . So if you have older phone that’s not in public mobiles whitelist for voLTE supported devices . You will soon need to upgrade to a new device that’s supported by public mobile with use of voLTE or making calls will one day become an issue for you . And I’m not sure you can opt of the messages . If it’s text messages your getting about it I think you can maybe reply “ stop “ and you will no longer get those text messages but you will also stop getting special offers thru text aswell

@Angus1965 Can you select 4G/LTE or 5G from your device's cellular connections, then try to place another call?
Do you still get the messaging?
