I think that was only the second 5gb promo. There was a first 5gb promo that did not have that requirement.
You're right as that was for a different promotion. For this one, it didn't matter where the sim card came from.

@Letitout If you compare your payment history to your wife's are they similar? Did you get the $5 discount applied?
Edit: If i remember correctly the promo mentioned that it might take up to 7 days for the bonus to appear in your account. When did you activate?
Best to contact the moderator keep in mind that it might take longer than 7 days to get a response so you need to be patient.

Did you both sign up at the same time? Last weekend?
If so, you will need to contact moderator to fix your account/plan.
