You will see that you paid the full price when you activated even though you signed up for AutoPay. The system is not set up to minus the auto pay rewards when you sign up. Instead, the auto pay rewards for activation is put under Available Balance. If you leave the $6 balance till your next renewal, yes, $12 will be subtracted from your plan price. You can go to Rewards from your self-serve and you will already see this.
After your first renewal processes, you will only have $6 under rewards as long as you remain on AutoPay.

This is because you must have signed up for AutoPay during activation. Since you paid the full price when you activated, the auto pay rewards becomes available as Available Balance. And the recurring rewards will be under rewards starting from your next renewal.
