I haven't logged in here in a long time, but I'm wondering if my 12GB $120/90 plan is LTE or 3G?

@Glen it happens. There are pros and cons to the move anyway. You could always have your son use Fongo to make calls back home. Totally free to call Canadaian phone numbers, and it uses either Wi-Fi (if connected) of some of your mobile data to do so.

That was my fault. He told me about the messages to migrate to Koodo, but I didn't have time to look into it.

LOL.. yeah. I saw that "small" typo.
We'll probably just use Skype or something. Thanks for the input.

Too bad you didn't take advantage of the Koodo migration offer he was texted a couple of months ago and it you would have gained Canada wide calling in the process. Oh well.

Thanks. I didn't see an option to add on nation wide calling. I'll look again.

I like his current plan and don't want to lose the 120GB of data that he has.
120 GB data??? Better keep that! 😉
Seriously though, you can't change this to Canada wide calling without loosing the good data deal.
Add a lond distance add-on ($15/400minutes) and / or use a voip app for the long distance calls.
BTW, grandfathered plans like yours are LTE. If a plan is LTE light (aka "3G speeds") it says "3G" in the plan description.

There was one in fall 2016, that was LTE. You can change your plan, but it will be what's offered now. Its hard to beat 12GB/90day plan. they are increasing the rate, and tried to move all those on promotional plan earlier.

That will be an issue - changing a plan means losing the old one. You can buy an add-on for Canada-wide minutes which would suit light/moderate use at likely not any more than the $60 a year the Canada-wide would have cost.

If you sign up during last year's promotion plan, it is LTE speed.
