HI @wilsonn

happy that you now got the savings back!!! (and you used Change on Renewal , right?)

the good news with the $19 plan is it is on 4G and no longer 3G, so you get better speed too and cheaper

I went back and looked at subscriptions and did change to the $19 plan. Thanks for the info Mayor. I'm a little happier now but still bent about the lack of communication. It's very suspicious that they quit sending me sms notifications about my bills after transitioning to the new system. One of the dangers with autopay is they can charge you whatever they want and one better be checking their statements. Normally, I never use auto-pay with credit cards and *especially* not banks. I could tell you a horror story about Bell.

Now they are charging me 28 bucks a month per phone when I was paying a lot less.

HI @wilsonn

do you have the $25-1GB plan? if you are, then the change in fact has no effect to you

There is current a $19-1GB plan, same as your $25 plan.  You can therefore change to that plan for lower the price to make up the rewards lost (the lost of $2 autopay + $5 loyalty).  Login My Account and schedule the plan change

if you also have friend referrals, they are still there, you are getting points now instead of rewards.  With the points, you can redeem for $15 bill credit whenever you get 15 points

Yes, I found no autopayment discount $2 since this month.

I was wondering why I wasn't getting sms messages about my bill payments anymore. Now I know why. Now they are charging me 28 bucks a month per phone when I was paying a lot less. Yes, I got the points notice and should have known it was going to be a rip-off. So this is the thanks you get for being a loyal customer for years. Now I have to deal with telus(again)regarding my home services bill. Every month its different despite the "agreement". Gawd I'm tired of dealing with this company.

The PM plan price didn't change.  The discounts did.

If you are still getting a referral, then that should be one Point per month, plus 5% of what you pay in Points back, and you will get 10 Points on your anniversary.  If you're getting .75 Points for 5% back, then it appears you're on a $ 15.00 plan.  All totalled, you should get an average of 2.58 Points per month, which is $ 3.42 less than what you were getting before.

Who are kidding my bill before the changes was 8 dollars month and same plan cost 16 dollars. As fare as the points I don't have enough to save 1 dollars even. Nothing else has changed accept the rewards are wort alot less. My plan currently is 15.00 dollars a month but after the rewards it was 8 dollars. As your points are almost worthless as I said before I can't even get a doller off it will take several  months to get  anything off. It's ridiculous if you think it is only difference is the customer gets to apply the points. I'm sure  it cost money putting this program together but it was done for the extra money Public mobile  could make.  Just admit it otherwise wise fix the  points system to make it a more fare system for the customers. Otherwise I'm sure more customers will leave. Public Mobile was or use to be the best price plans not anymore.

I previously got $2 off for auto-pay, $3 off for duration with Public and $1 off for referral, total of $6 off per month. I now get 1.75 points per month, which I assume is $1.75 on rewards. Time to switch I guess

marcnoel
Model Citizen / Citoyen Modèle

Whatever you had to pay after any Rewards or Points will get you 5% back.  You will also get 10 Points on your anniversary date.  If you had referrals or Community Rewards, check your Rewards page.  They should be there, but in Points form now.  Once you reach 15, you can redeem them towards your bill.  It may be that you haven't lost much.  It's just that you have to manually apply the Points to your bill now, vs. Rewards being automatically deducted before.

I concur, my cost near doubled

Fredthedog1

Ya the data offer with an expiring date was a joke. It also sucks to have total cost go up . However , for me i’m not going  to leave and pay more for less . If you find a plan that is cheaper than PM please provide details so that we also can consider it . So far no one that has said they are leaving has been able to .

Dagster
Great Neighbour / Super Voisin

Fancy double talk plan cost double what I used to. The rewards you have to collect to get the same monthly discount is practically impossible. I waited just to see how the changes would effect the monthly bill. I'm not happy at all. Checking plans with other providers and will be leaving Public Mobile very soon.  This was totally unfair I get you weren't making enough as a company but this is unreasonable. The offer you gave to loyal customer was not fair then to have  a time limit on them youse or they expire. Is shameful and shows Public Mobile does not care enough about losing customers.

marcnoel
Model Citizen / Citoyen Modèle

The other thing is... you may not use much data NOW, but who knows what the future holds?  Better to have too much, vs. not enough.  If it ends up being a small enough price increase, it may be worth it to know you have access to extra data.

I am on the cusp of data usage that sits between plan offerings, and, currently, my only lower data option is 1 GB, vs. 20 now, so, it is worth the extra $ 6.00/month to have access to the extra 19 GB.

marcnoel
Model Citizen / Citoyen Modèle

I agree.  You previously commented that the offer said it would start on your re-newal date, so that tells me you could cancel the change, if necessary.  Please keep us apprised.

jhhead
Great Citizen / Super Citoyen

Yeah it's like every week something new.

Probably gonna stay on this 90 day plan as I really don't need that much data and used to get by with 1GB. However I guess I could always accept and then I have 2.5 months to see if they offer a 90 day option for $20 or something which I probably would do for $1 more double data.

The more I think of it I almost have nothing to lose by accepting and seeing what happens because the online portal will let you cancel an upcoming change 🤔

marcnoel
Model Citizen / Citoyen Modèle

I wonder if they will offer a discount again for a 90-day option on the $ 22.00/6 GB.  Deal after deal after deal.  At this rate, we'll get everything for nothing.  I'm not going to complain.

hi @jhhead true.. that was not good move

killing legacy rewards was not a decision over-night..they have enough time to pull it off first (like a month earlier) to allow people to forget the good offer

Yeah I'm happy with the new offers that somewhat offset the loss of rewards.

The only thing I'm still not pleased about is the loss of the 1 point/month offer for converting to points that did not have 30 days notice for the change.  😫

So last month got a text for the $21 3GB 4G (turned out I was then able to make it $19/month 90 day option) which I had accepted.

Just now got a NEW offer:

Public Mobile here. We've got a great deal for you. Get 6GB of data at 4G speeds of up to 100mbps for only $22/month.

Reply YES to get this limited time offer added to your account and will take effect on your next renewal date.

Hurry, offer ends June 18, 2024.

Reply STOP if you no longer wish to hear about Public Mobile offers.

🤔Tempting offer and so much better then my old $25 1GB 3G plan I had at the beginning of the year. Best decision was that I downgraded to the $15 plan before this whole thing happened because I was protesting them not allowing me to switch to one of the "new activation only plan" $24 4GB 4G plan 😅

Courious about your timeline - has your $57/9GB/90days kicked in yet?

Yes my plan has since renewed. Here is the timeline:

Got offer for the $21 3GB plan on May 24

Accepted offer May 25

In app noticed and changed to $57/9GB/90day May 30

Plan renewal took effect June 9 for the $57/9GB/90day

Got this new offer $22 6GB June 14

I have a theory that access to the 90day version, which was only available after the $21/3GB SMS offer was accepted and only in the app, might have been a glitch... $22/6GB is arguably the better deal if one is willing to spend $21 and might max out the 3GB. If your account is still on the $15 plan, even with the scheduled plan change, the $22/6GB might be there to entice you to spend more money again. Obviously, if you are on $57/9GB/90days already, that doesn't really hold water.

hi @PMInfo1 you think you made the difference?? No

with or without the complaints, competitors know what PM does here and they will try to steal the customers with different deals

you thought you took down Telus customer base?? No. I remember there was a post here earlier, couple weeks ago, confirming PM has record breaking new activation

PMInfo1
Good Citizen / Bon Citoyen

For those that said complaints to CCTS were pointless, I always disagreed.  The avalanche of complaints spurred competitors to offer $19 plans (good ones) which created a bathtub leak for PM... Enough of a difference for PM to match on new subscribers and even offer (albiet a 1Gb data limited) a $19 plan to legacy customers.

Will / Did this retain the Legacy rewards program...No... but it did take down Telus/PM arrogance that there would be no affect on their subscriber base.

marcnoel

That's the bottom line.

sman123

I will probably give Lucky Mobile a try.  Same price, free activation with eSIM, and I qualify for new activation offers.  They are the Bell equivalent to Telus PM.  Bell and Telus share the same infrastructure so nothing changes other than the billing.  It's the same towers, same everything.  They pretty much match each other on price/features as well.

They shouldn't even be allowed to pretend they are separate companies.  Using these different brand name services to create the false sense of more competition than there really is, but that's another discussion

I changed my plan to a less expensive one that offers me more data plus Canada - US calling! So now I’ll  be paying about the same as I was before but getting more for it.

Fredthedog1
Good Citizen / Bon Citoyen

Let us know if you find something out there that is cheaper than PM. So far I haven’t seen anything . There is absolutely no reason to be loyal to PM or any other provider. I’m loyal to whoever gives the best price for what I need . I’ve lost about 5$ per month but I’m not gonna pay more to go elsewhere just to spite PM.

sman123
Good Citizen / Bon Citoyen

I am in the same boat as you.  No longer any reason to be loyal now so I guess it's time to kiss PM goodbye.
