Hey Community,
November was another busy and exciting month, as we continued to offer our infamous $40/ 4GB plan. As a result of the promotion, we saw a big increase in new members to our Community, many having lots of questions. We also saw a huge increase in the number of Community members who were helping others out. A big thanks to each and every one of you for offering a warm Public Mobile welcome and for stepping up to help your fellow Community members in their time of need. Your commitment to helping others has truly been demonstrated over the past several weeks, and we are so fortunate to have such an awesome, caring group!
Let’s quickly look at some of the highlights from this past month:
With the influx of new customers, also came an influx of Community help! Thanks to everyone who started a discussion, helped solve a question, and a big thanks to those who even wrote instructional topics on how things work. We would also like to extend our thanks to the following people.
Our Oracles
You’ll know our Oracles, our top 0.1% community contributors, as @srlawren, @Luddite, and @imm1304. These three really know their stuff and have been helping new Community members left, right and centre. With their combined efforts they made over 1000 replies, and received 1200 Bravo’s. They have the role of being part tech wizard, part Boy Scout and part Jedi master down pat.
This past month also allowed a couple of members to shine, and we are excited to introduce two new Oracles to the Community. These two new Oracles have been with Public Mobile for over a year, and have been very active right from the start. Together, they have contributed over 6000 replies, received over 4000 Bravo’s and have provided hundreds of solutions.
Please welcome Public Mobile’s latest Oracles!
NDesai and formerly known as dhanadhan
NDesai is an IT whiz! After years of work experience and a strong passion for what he does, he has a wide breadth of IT knowledge including computer hardware/ software, networking, programming, web development, wireless and security. As a result, he has a hard time going anywhere without his computer and phone. I’m sure many of you can relate, right? NDesai is also an avid Vancouver Canucks and New England Patriots Fan.
Rockdaddy22
Rockdaddy22 loves the Public Mobile Community because he loves helping others and sharing his knowledge about phones and how they work. He also has a strong appreciation for the Public Mobile moderators, and all the work that they do! Aside from his Community involvement, Rockdaddy22 likes to watch movies, collect coins and is a big fan of the Toronto Raptors.
Our Top 0.5%
We’d also like to thank our Community members who made it to the top 0.5% this month. Together, December’s Top 0.5% contributed over 2400 replies, and received over 1600 Bravo’s. Truly amazing!
We also want to give a shout-out to these members who have also been very active – posting, answering questions, providing feedback and getting Bravos. Keep it up!
@computergeek541, @neo911, @McLaren, @nishufan, @imcphers, @ute1978, @ckl, @Chaos_Scorpio, @jamestneutron, @jheili99 and many more….
To recognize your contribution this past month we have added a badge, based on your contribution level, to your Community profile. A Community Reward will be also be given to all contributors on a reward eligible plan on your next payment due date.
A Community Reward will be given to all the contributors on a reward-eligible plan on your next payment due date. Earning a Community Reward is easy. All you have to do is give help to your fellow Community members, acknowledge solutions, and share ideas. And, of course, your suggestions and feedback will help us create a better experience for everyone.
Here’s how you can get started –
See a post you like? Show it some love and give it a bravo!

Greyed out merely means it's available for you to earn it, not that it's been earned already. I see it greyed out on my list too, and I know I haven't earned it.
@SD08 greyed out has a meaning to but no idea what; I have a greyed out badge from like 6 months ago just sitting there
Only idea I could ever come up with is I earned the badge during a month when my services were suspended so I didn't actually get the badge
Noone has ever suggested a better idea yet (I will bravo it if you come up with one )

Ah, I'd thought it meant I would be assured Top 5% ... or better if I happen to be very active and helpful.

Or-a-cle, n.
1. a priest or priestess acting as a medium through whom advice or prophecy was sought from the gods in classical antiquity; a place at which divine advice or prophecy was sought. Synonyms: prophet, prophetess, sibyl, seer, augur, prognosticator, diviner, soothsayer, fortune teller, sage; see also Pythia, Oracle at Delphi, and Oracle of Apollo.
2. a person or thing regarded as an infallible authority or guide on something. Synonyms: authority, expert, specialist, pundit, mentor, adviser, guru.
So All Hail the High Priests and/or High Priestesses of Public Mobile - and congrats to the new guys - as usual, lol, your efforts deserve some brag and swag. But you guys keep all the sortilege - I'll stick with the hard tech, hard specs, hard facts, and hard results.

Congratulations to @Rockdaddy22, @NDesai and the rest for your positive contributions!

Congrats to everyone!!! It's great to see such a supportive community! It was certainly a challenge trying to keep everyone happy in light of all the problems that surfaced!

Glad to see things worked out. We all know it can happen when you are too busy.
Congrats to real top contributors. Keep it up.

@jimmyche activity is not the sole metric that is looked at.
Heck if you want check out @Martin
He is one of the most prolific posters in history of Public Mobile
And he has been earning badges monthly, despite the fact he passed away this summer
People can still bravo a person's older posts so being actually active on community is not a pre requisite to earn badges and rewards

Hey @jimmyche
I agree, the first post was posted in error, thanks to the Community we quickly rectified the situation and edited the post.
However, I don't see a credibility issue here, this is the first time that this occurs 🙂

I found this hilarious
In the original post @Jeremy_M post. It said:
"We also want to give a shout-out to these members who have also been very active – posting, answering questions, providing feedback and getting Bravos. ------------------------ Keep it up!"
Some of the mentioned members made it to the top 25%, but have not log in for weeks. one of which was not logged in since 3 weeks ago and the last post the person post was on Oct 30th. None of his previous posts was bravoed in November.
I don't know what make @Jeremy_M recognised this member as an active member for the month of November but oh well. This whole community reward system just seems to have some credibility issues.

Congrats everyone! Thanks for your contribution towards the community 🙂

@SD08 one of the benefits of influx of new blood
The newbies crashed our system (haha) but the message boards were certainly hopping
I think in last month more posts than in rest of year...
12-09-2016 01:56 PM
@shrimpdude naw @Rockdaddy22 just lives here
12-09-2016 01:55 PM
@Jeremy_M you really should honour badges for the glitches if someone was congratulated then having it stripped away seems a bit harsh...
12-09-2016 01:53 PM
@ShawnC13 flattery will get you everywhere! LOL. In all honesty thank you for the kind words, but we are just a few among many, many knowledgeable and helpful community members. This really is a remarkable place! Compared to most product support forums/communities, this place really is quite polite, helpful, and patient (all in general--there's always exceptions) compared to most.
12-09-2016 01:52 PM
Even if we focus just on active members, I'd imagine there are what 2000 (just a guess). Thus about 1000 should get the 50% award.

Now we will see hundreds+ in the top 50% where 1-2 bravos would get you there? (Yes i know bravo is not the only metric).

Thanks for looking into this @Jeremy_M congrats to all the new badge holders and community reward earners!! I am surprised I was top 0.5 but for that I need to really thanks Oracles @Luddite, @Rockdaddy22, @imm1304, @srlawren and @NDesai as most of what I put out for help is stuff I have learned from reading over their posts. So thank you and is just seems like November was the month of the GLITCH!!

Thanks very much to @Jeremy_M for rechecking the report so that everyone gets their rewards.
Congrats to all who have now been newly recognized in the top 0.5% and top 5% honour rolls and all other members who received updated badges.
A shout out to those who persevered and brought this to the moderator's attention.
