Phone suddenly stopped working.  Says SIM card number invalid.   Yesterday SIM card was valid.   Help.

If you do have access to another device with a working SIM card in it, try your public mobile SIM in that device  -and-  also try the other SIM in your device.

 

This way you will be able to isolate whether the issue is with the functioning of your device or with your SIM.

Does your Account say ACTIVE status? or did you miss a payment?

 

Try some trouble shooting before asking Moderators to check your account and/or SIM card number:

  • turn your phone off for at least 3 minutes, then reboot. 
  • toggle into airplane mode for a few minutes then back to regular mode.
  • ensure devices has up to date software
  • RESET your network settings

Others have suggested good tests as well.

 

If all these fail without service back up and running ask Moderators to confirm the last four digits of your SIM card.

 

Contact Moderators by either these 2 methods:

 

Put in a ticket through SIMon Bot (usually faster method to get in contact with the Public Mobile Moderators) by clicking on the bottom, right chat bubble.

@Morganmackenzie  did you try reseat the sim card?  Sometimes, it helps

 

Also, if you have a second phone, try to put the SIM onto the phone and see what it says

How long have you had that account ? Has it been active in that time ? Is your phone blacklisted or reported as stolen ?
