Hi; I use a VPN as everyone should.

I can not connect to publicmobile.ca while using the VPN. or http://publicmobile.ca/get-help

I can connect to

https://selfserve.publicmobile.ca/

I know that you probably can not help, but this issue should be brought to someone at public mobile tech dept.

I agree that everyone should use a VPN.

 

I don't agree that everyone should use a VPN all the time. There are instances - like the one you describe - where sites fail or break when accessed through a VPN. The best cure in these instances is to shut the VPN off (for the duration) and access the site normally.

 

I could understand efforts to secure the Self-Serve servers by blocking connections from VPN exit nodes. I can see no gain from blocking access to servers which run stuff like Get Help FAQs.

But Public Mobile's websites are a mess. A buggy, half-misconfigured kludge, it always seems like Public Mobile is reluctant to adjust anything because they're afraid to break anything which already (mostly) works well enough.

I have tried numerous fixes.

Changing Protocols seems to work.

UDP, TCP, and Wireguard(on auto) do not work.

IKEv2 and Wireguard(selected, not auto) work.

Very strange!

As stated above, I use SurfShark, one of the most highly recommended VPN's out there.

Why would I change VPN's???

It is PublicMobile issue if they have it blacklisted.

@Skilling  try changing the location

Try changing VPN provider, some probably got blacklisted

What VPN app are you using?

If you use an iPhone, I use Cloudflare and it has an option to disable for 15 minutes or an hour or when you enable when you are finished.
I have the same problem on specific sites and I disable for a short time because the anti-malware on this app find it suspicious.

 

I find Cloudflare doesn’t work as well on Android phones.
