@darlicious You can take solace in that you got 1 (Dean) out of 3 of the actor's names correct..... .333 is a VERY good percentage..... if you're talking about hitting, in baseball. 😜 🤣 As it turns out, although I KNEW Harry Dean Stanton was wrong, I couldn't remember the correct name, since, as mentioned, I rarely watched that show, so I had to look it up.
Seems like that sort of thing happens to you quite a bit - why don't you just turn off that auto-correct?

Lol....i need to get more sleep I knew Richard Dean Anderson is correct but a slight misspelling and my tablet autocorrected me twice even now as it apparently it knows better than I what i want to type?!! I'm sure that's what i half typed and once autocorrected went with it.....i was staring at the name all weekend with this niggling feeling that something wasn't quite right.....ill take solace in that you're the only one that picked up on it.

There I fixed it for you or should I say I macgyvered it for you!
No, actually you didn't...... if you paid attention, I bolded & underlined Harry Dean Stanton..... you might want to check again, about who played the part...... 🙄 🤣

Looks like I fell asleep before I hit post on this reply last night.....oh well a little out of context. However @AE_Collector you might want to keep this handy for future reference.....

Well, I only ever watched the show 3 or 4 times(both old & new), but suffice it to say, the main character was famous for using ANYTHING & EVERYTHING in weird, and improbable combinations, to make SOMETHING helpful in getting out of tight situations, and/or getting a task done, when there was next to nothing, most people would consider useful, at hand. The whole concept is probably what turned me off the show, given the ridiculous nature of some of the "mcgyvering" that went on. 🙄

No different than, we use the phrase, "Google it", when we mean to do an internet search.....

I certainly know the name of the show etc so am familiar with the name MacGyver. But I don’t think I ever saw an episode. Now that it is pointed out it ran from 1985-1992 I maybe see some clues as to why. My daughters were born in 1986 and 1988 so may have been busy then!

@kb_mv I wouldn't assume. I remember that the show was on hiatus for quite a while before being brought back one week following the 1 hour finales of both Who's The Boss and Growing Pains.

@darlicious I assumed the poor guy (@computergeek541) wouldn't get the TV show being unfamiliar with the term. Funny how perceptions can vary between people when presented with the same facts.

@darlicious LOL, The Urban Dictionary was for the benefit of @AE_Collector . I assure you I am more than old enough to not only remember it, but to have been an avid viewer. I never adopted the hair though!

You are old enough to remember this.... @kb_mv not so much thus the need for the urban dictionary despite the reboot tv series on Friday night's.

@AE_Collector That is indeed where it came from. 1985-1992, I'm getting old.

Didn’t see this post before posting that landed just above. Now I am not sure if you mean it IS from MacGyver TV show or IS NOT related to TV show. not a common name so gut tells me it IS related but I don't recall ever watching the show so I don't have anything that went on there to guide my thoughts!
