I recently got one of those offers too, and have been trying to figure out if it is legitimate or not. even with the activation fee you mentioned above I almost wonder if it would be worth it just to switch to tell us. I am so sick of not getting a actual breakdown each month in an invoice on how much data I use with public. My invoice always only shows the amount I owe and does not give any data. Use information.

@bigblue well that’s disappointing, maybe it’s different for everyone kinda like here at public not everyone gets same offers most offers I get thru text say activation fee waived

just phoned telus direct-there is an $80/phone number transfer fee even if you do it online or over the phone.

thanks- I'll try myself or phone direct

@bigblue I’m sure if you called in you could have this activation fees waived, or just doing online yourself . But when you need brick and mortar store , you’re more likely going to have activation fee , to cover the Telus employees

Went to the Telus store to switch 2 accounts(YES its legit) She had it mostly done and announced that there was a $80. /per account activation fee.---I GUESS I'M STAYING WITH PUBLIC MOBILE.

just inquired about the plan--I was told Unlimited Canada-wide minutes and messaging ,NO unlimited international text and picture messaging, if that mattered to anyone.

Torn on this upgrade. My $19/3GB plan is solid, and I don't really need an extra 2GB/mo. But getting 5G speeds and WiFi calling back is a strong pull.

I didn't think he's saying it's a good plan...he's simply reporting on an SMS he rec'd from Telus. He's done this in the past when other offers or incentives have circulated. I interpret it as he's informing the broader Community rather than suggesting anyone bail out and go to Telus.

Never said they so good or bad , just like to help keep the community informed of choices as for y I’m still here . I’m not just with one player in town I’m “here” “There “ and “everywhere “ variety is the spice of “life” happy holidays:) @will13am

looks legit as I got the same text.
5 for 25 is good plan for some.
I personally don't need it on that line as my Koodo gives me 95GB so sticking up with basic $19 for 1gb.

hi @OldFlinty
Telus owns Public Mobile and Koodo, and they will send email like this
12-18-2025 12:20 PM
Why would public mobile send out a text telling us to switch to Telus? Is this for real?
