Don't schedule any plan changes yet. The rate hike is not written in stone and telus/pm has only informed some of its subscribers to the $10 plan. If you prefer to stay on this plan and want to complain about this unwarranted 30% rate hike your first step would be to complain to customer support.
I believe telus has chosen a percentage of customers with the $10 plan to send out this email to gauge how much of an uproar it would cause.....unfortunately anyone here with a more expensive plan don't seem to care that much and think it's justified despite mobile plan prices overall across all providers lowering in price each year on average about 14% and pm themselves lowering some plan prices or boosting the plan data amounts between 20% and 50% on select plans.
This price hike is purely out of greed, a way to claw back loyalty rewards and force customers off this plan onto a higher priced plan despite most not needing any extra services other than what is offered by this bare bones basic plan. If you would prefer to stay on the $10 50/50 plan at the same price make your voice known starting with customer support.

No, any customer who stays on the old rewards program will be grandfathered.

How about the rewards? Is the public mobile doesn’t cut off any old rewards?

Yes, everything will stay the same unless you change plans.

@Jackhyf63 Yes the $10 plan is getting a 30% price hike so depending upon your usage it might be better to upgrade to the $15 plan, although we have no idea if PM plans on increasing prices on other plans. For anyone who only needs to make the occasional call, it's still better to stay on it and just add 500 mins as an add-on instead. edit: of course, also for anyone who rarely sends texts too
