I recently broke my phone, I contacted public mobile via Facebook. They informed me that I am able to take my sim card, put it in a friend's compatible phone and forward all calls using the settings menu. I did this, forwarded it to a calling app I have downloaded on my tablet. IT WORKED😁. and it still works after taking my sim card out of the phone! ... my only issue is that I am not able to do this with my sms😟. In self serve on the public mobile website we are able to view the time, date and numbers of our message history, but it doesn't show what the message says. My idea is a menu option in self serve so we can send and receive sms on a Web browser. And/or an option where we can send and receive sms through email.

Hi I do not think there is a SMS forwarding feature in the carrier setup.  In Android, there is an app performing the sms forwarding (which u can easily find it using google).  In iphone, the sms can be forwarded to ipad or mac (it is sms relay) for the same apple ID when u are ios 8.1 onwards. Hope that you can temporarily resolve it until you will get the new headset.

Thank you for your response. I did try that, but they don't work after I took my sim card out of the phone.

I believe an SMS must be "received" before it can be forwarded. Therefore, no functionality without an installed SIM. 😞

BTW: check you tablet app for SMS ability; fongo.com has it.

Hi it seems that you do not need SMS forwarding, but rather receive the SMS in the tablet (since the SIM card is in your tablet).  I googled that some Android version allows SMS by an application even there is no built in SMS app, and some devices have the build in app.  Try to google search your model and see how to install/enable the sms in your device, and it is OS dependent.  This should solve your issue of not seeing the message.

SMS forwarding to another phone number, or allowing me to read my messages through my online account, would be a big help for international travel since Public Mobile doesn't have roaming outside the US. As it is, I can get a foreign SIM while I'm traveling, and I assume I can call in to check my voice mail (I'm not a PM customer yet, so I haven't tried) but have no way to receive texts at my normal number.

I'm considering switching to PM but the lack of international roaming is the biggest thing stopping me. SMS forwarding would help.
