what I as a customer would like to see is a application of public mobile for phones. Where you can easily accessed your account on the go without going to internet searching the site and loging in. Also in this app customer could easily top up with their debit/ credit cards. This idea will be more practical for those who are contanstly on their cell, and with one click can accessed their accounts

I agree 100% with this. A company that's purely focused on self serve would benefit greatly from an app, but of course only after the service itself is operating smoothly. The PM mobile self serve website isn't streamlined for mobile browsers either, so an app would make things much more accessible. Once everything seems to be up and running without a hitch, then maybe they should focus on an app.

I agree that mobile is important, and is a must in this day & age, especially for carriers. However, I disagree with the approach. While apps sound like a good idea, I rather they redesign the portal to be mobile friendly instead. It ensures device compatibility across the board and is cheaper to develop than maintaining code on multiple platforms.

It's easier to write once & deploy once to web, Android, iOS, Windows 10 Mobile and BlackBerry than to publish apps for each platform.

If dedicated app is not a possibility, at the very least, PM needs to revise the self-serve interface to be mobile friendly (as @deltatux mentions) - after all, this IS a mobile service.

Has there been any thought to creating an app to get you usage data a little faster?

Yes, this idea has been pitched multiple times in the past.

Believe me, I and countless others have brought it up. I am pretty certain PM will have an fantastic app waiting for us in 2016

Does anyone know if PM uses the same back-end systems as Koodo/Telus (parent company)? If so, I'm wondering how realistic would it be to have their app ported to PM? see http://mobilesyrup.com/2013/09/24/koodo-mobile-updates-self-serve-app-for-iphone-android-and-blackbe...

Hi @pav,

I don't know about Telus, but Koodo and PM share the same back-end systems. That's the reason for problematic ports from Koodo to PM WITHOUT changing the Koodo email address. As far as the servers were concerned, such ports were intra-carrier, which is impossible.

Cheers.
