Your activation page is extremely slow, I had to fill everything on each page out about 10 times before I made it to the end as each page would hang for 5+ minutes on clicking "proceed" causing me to have to reload. Then I make it to the end, and I simultaneously get a "success! you've activated" and "sorry, we were unable to activate" messages at the same time.

 

The result is that I cannot activate my SIM again, I did not receive a confirmation email, I cannot log into the account that may or may not have been created, and I don't know if the payment information I provided was used and I've been billed or not.

 

This is most frustrated I have been in a long, long time and I work in IT. Fix your site. Allow people to actually give you money.

 I was billed 3 times despite the activation page saying that they were unable to activate. Eventually Public Mobile fixed everything but it does take a while unfortunately.

I had no issue at all when I did it. Were you on desktop or mobile?

The site may have encountered some server issues, or your internet connection was a bit slow, in this case. Either way, this post is not suitable for the Public Lab section. My activation process was quick and convenient. Hope a PM moderator would help you soon.

HI @Sferguson,

Check out your browser. I just activated a SIM card for a friend, about 20 minutes ago and everything went through smoothly. I spent lest than 10 minutes to complete teh precess. Clean up your browser, as well as your cache.

Desktop and mobile, tried multiple browsers. No issues with any other sites, ie logging into current provider to confirm account number. Even testing other websites within the same browser while PM froze was successful. I am 99.99% positive this issue is local to the Public Mobile site.

It's a moot point as my SIM is invalid now according to the site as I mentioned. It's probably activated and just needs something done "behind the scenes". Waiting for a support person to get back to me tomorrow.
