Hello,

 

  So I was asking a few  people how to refer a friend. They told me that it's more or less word of mouth, when they go to activate they need to enter the referring members telephone #  in order to be rewarded. 

 

  I was thinking, why not include either a link with a member specific code embedded in that's accesed via Self-Serve account that can be copied and pasted and sent to the friend.

 

OR

 

 A link from the referring members self-serve account, with the same idea as above with a code embedded, but basically you click that link and input the friend or friends email address. 

 

 I think once out of BETA, a more convenient and fool proof way of being rewarded for referring a friend would benefit both Public Mobile, as I'm sure there would be many more referrals than there probably was under the current referral system and the member would be more inclined to want to refer their friends. 

 

My two cents. Hopefully it all makes sense.

Exactly @Martin,

 

I use Tangerine for my banking, I referr people with my "Orange Key" wich is just a random number and it works perfectly without me having to give personal information.

 

For Uber referals I use my uber "Code", which is a random number at the beginning but you can change it to whatever you want.

 

For Amazon, its just a link...

 

Any of these implementations would allow us to refer more and more easily.. I could just post my "Code" or "Link" to the classifieds in my office, but I think twice if I have to give my phone number.

Hey all, new guy here. As I start to use the PM network and the community forum I would just like to suggest a form of referral, I am sure others have suggested.

I would love to be able to have a link that I can attached to email or the "send from message" on my device, facebook and twitter etc.

The link should be short with a call to action and include the PM users info that should auto populate when the new subscriber is acivating their phone.

Faily simple solution on the front side, understand a little coding requirements on the back end, but, this will get the word out via social media and my every day usage.

 

Another quick thought I had... if you send every subscriber a NEW SIM card to have "in hand" when speaking to their friends and family members, it can be instant activations. kind of a network marketing approach.

 

Anyways, happy to be hear and look forward to PM moving forward.Smiley Happy

I always keep a couple PM SIMs on hand for referrals 🙂

 

Not always do they remember to fill in my phone number for said referral though 😞 It'd be nice if you could register the SIM ahead of time (perhaps with the person's name to ensure you actually referred them), so that when they activate it you get a referral.

No timeframe right now as our team is working on designing what the program will look like in it's entirety.

 

We want to be sure that what we promise to our Community is what we will deliver.

Yet another implementation method: have referrals ALL originate with SIMs sent to a member (hereafter known as Referral SIMs) This would mean ordering with one's current email address and PM recording Referral SIM numbers against one's account. Activation of a Referral SIM would the automatically register in one's account.

But seriously, @Igor_M I'm extremely happy to see that this is an issue that is already being addressed by PM.

I believe that the benefits everyone will get from something simple, quick and efficient to refer a friend, family member or colleague.

I know that I've lost out on the rewards from several of my good buddys joining Public Mobile because I couldn't send them a referral link.

@jairolevi is bang on with Orange Key. It would be such a simple way of doing things.
