I feel like bringing friends and family to Public Mobile would be a lot more successful if it provided a reward for the friend/family member and not just the person recommending it. Something simple like $5 or $10 off their first bill could provide more incentive than just: "oh if you join public mobile I'll get a dollar off my bill but there's no benefit for you."

I agree, there should be something for both sides. Even if the $1 for 30 days is applied to both it would be more fair than only benefiting the one person

Joining Public Mobile and paying less to get more isn't already an incentive?

And referred friends are rewarded for referring more friends of their own.  But the line has to be drawn somewhere before referrals build into an unsustainable pyramid scheme.

Greedy is greedy. I don't even have PM yet but I can say that it's hard to make issue with their referral system.

Their incentive would be to sign up people themselves and get $1 off/pp monthly.

Lets see the person you do refer does get something.  Plans that are cheaper, $2 a month if autopay is set up, $1 for anyone they refer as long as they stay active.  $1 a month after being here a year and so on up to $5 a month.  What other provider offers that type of loyalty reward?  As well any future promos that are better then what you are already on you are able to get them as promos aren't just for new customers

I was fortunate in my first 90 day renewal, to $6 autopay reward, and $5 community reward.  My $120 plan was $109 + taxes, for ~3 months.  I did not refer a friend as I found this site on my own, and even if I did, my reward was saving $90 over the same period with my previous provider.

i paid out a remaining tab of ~$110, plus a usage of 20 or so days of service to leave my previous provider.

in the past 90 days, I've almost covered the tab cost in savings, and I'm still not at my second renewal for 90 days.  In all of six months, I will be saving money, and have a better plan, including better coverage, data speeds, and lack of roaming charges, and data overages.

A new customer doesn't need any more than this in my opinion, and I still am waiting to get the promo on my future dated plan change.

i honestly can say, I've struck gold with Public Mobile.

Your mileage may vary.

I posted about this a year ago and the idea is currently "under consideration" see post here: http://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/Public-Lab/Reward-for-the-person-referred-too/idi-p/39...

If you think it's a good idea, you should proably add your bravos and comments to my post. Unless there is an older post than mine, or one that already has more bravos about the same topic. If there is, please tag me or pm me to let me know.  @alldylallday @stonechucker @ShawnC13 @Digler45 @kevdanga @Korth  @xCameron94x
