Hi Public Mobile,

I am not in the market for a new phone just yet but I am a bargain hunter and I noticed that Telus and Koodo often have refurbished phones. Considering Public Mobile is Telus it would be nice to see you guys repurpose some of these refurbished phone for Public Mobile customers every once in a while.

That sounds nice. But, if PM did that, then PM would NOT be able to keep prices as competitive as is now, plus they would have to have Warrenty stuff too. But other than that, Idea has sound

Hello, The refurbished phones sold by Telus and Koodo are compatible with Public Mobile, without any reconfiguration necessary. The reason that those phones are compatible is due to the fact that PM, Koodo and Telus all share the same network, operating on the same frequencies. That network is owned and operated by Telus, with Public Mobile and Koodo being its daughter companies. If you purchase a Koodo or Telus phone to be used on the PM network, rest assured that it will function without any problems. Though somewhat off-topic, Telus and Bell share towers throughout Canada, hence the 97% or 98% coverage by Telus, Koodo, and Public Mobile.  Cheers.

Best bet would be keep an eye open for good deals and post them up in the forums for community's benefits. Perhaps, we can maintain a hot deals on the phones thread? Count me in to maintain and contribute it.

Hello bilal, If memory serves me correctly, that idea was brought up a number of months ago, and the general response was that it would be a duplication of what already existed. As a result, the idea went nowhere. FYI.

OK @MartinHow does a Board get created so @bilal can maintain it? I prefer this to PM selling phones and increasing overhead to provide tech support.

Hi Luddite, Only PM can create a new, separate board. Where did you get the idea that PM is going to start selling phones? I exchanged many private messages with PM today, and I can assure you that PM and selling phones are mutually exclusive terms.

On the other hand I thought bilal's idea for a "Hot Deals" board was good.

It's what happens, at least to me, when good idea gets buried inside a poor one.

Luddite, I can tell that you are without your colander. When the aspect of repurposing was raised, I understood it, perhaps mistakenly, that he thought that Telus/Koodo phones were incompatible with PM, hence my reply.

That is indeed the situation. My team is searching for a new vein in the Andes for copper as good as Chilean. No luck so far.
