Seriously

Many other carriers have options if payment is greater than $100 your balance does not expire.

Public even used to list 180 day plans in the past (no idea why they were ditched)

Bring in a 365 day plan. Just pay it and forget it.

Even from a support viewpoint, if payment is made once far less Mod interaction is required (even if repeating billing error, 1 fix vs 4+ fixes a year seems a no brainer)

From a revenue standpoint it is a winner since you are deferring when rewards are acumulated to end of year (interest free loan) as well as guaranteed revenue (since no worry client could cancel)

From an infrastructure point of view less system wear and tear since clients can not be switching plans every couple months or jumping on every promo flash sale you introduce

The only negative is forums might quiet down if people check online less often (but really do we want nervous people who need to check their accounts every month to see if something worked or not?)

I think 150 or 180 Days, Tops

The issue I have is that if there was a better deal then you would be stuck and unable to move because you wouldn't want to lose all your money.  Also, I would prefer to get rewarded on a monthly basis.

I would not be comfortable with pre-paying for a full year in advance. That is too much time, and a big investment given what the prices currently are. Also that feels more like a contract if anything.

it is just a choice that they can let customers decide

I like this idea and have also been in support of longer term plans from the beginning. Make it worthwhile for the customer as well and enjoy a revenue boost upfront which can be used to fuel further growth over the year. Increasing number of people are ditching the landline and using a mobile line as their primary phone number. So I anticipate good response in this new segment.. as well as among the deal seekers.

I must add that the only real important factor would be the price point. It absolutely has to be the absolute best deal if you want people to pay upfront for a whole year. Anything even close to the current prices will fail spectacularly. When I hear a 365 day plan, I expect something in the ballpark of the Fall 2016 promo with some discount. So lets say around $360 to $400 a year for 48GB of data and unlimited talk and text.

I'm in too, provided anyone on 365 can take any promo offered starting on their next renewal.

It would have to be a screaming deal as mentioned like the fall promo or a little better. My only thing is I would want some data limits  from pm. Ok possibly 4 90 day terms. Would suck to accedently use all data in first month....

@imm1304 of course people would only prepay for a promo plan

But I am thinking they could reduce (or even remove) the base access cost ($25 extra we currently pay for 90 day plans or $10 on 30 day plans)

In most cases the 12 month rollover data would mean people required less data per month so Public can easily offer a competitive price without fear of using up all your data

Oh also this option would eliminate the need to worry whether 30 or 31 days per month for those of us who are lazy 🙂

I agree with you @kav2001c, lets see what PM comes up with. It would be awesome to see longer term plans.
