Idea 1: Monthly plans

I was originally very into the idea of a 90 day plan but it is just really hard to keep track of especially for data since Android only has monthly tracking of data usage. Simplify the plan structure to one month plans with the renewal date on the first of the month.

Idea 2: Unlimited throttled data

LTE data is great and I make the most out of it but I'm realizing that since it's so fast, I am using it a lot more. It would be a great feature to allow unlimited data at throttled speeds when you go over your LTE data limit so that basic things like web browsing and email can still be done. I know you have already declined this suggestion in the past but thought I would make it again so that you know that interest in this idea is not going away.

Idea 3: Mobile website/app

Keeping track of my account is much less pleasant than with WIND. The My Account website is very outdated with minimal functions and it doesn't work on mobile. Make that better. It doesn't need to be an app but at least it should be a responsive site with better features.

In reply to your questions

1) if you go back to a monthly price structure the savings that we get now will not be as good.  There is a "bulk" buying discount.  If you have trouble tracking your data a user from here has created an app I am not sure of the name for android systems that is based on PM's 30 and 90 day cycles.

2) Your data package is your data package if you need more get a bigger package or an addon that can be carried on until all used up.  There are limits everyone needs to have.

3) I know the app has been discussed many times but I haven't actually checked the self serve from my phone. So I am not sure what it is like I have just used my laptop through the phone hotspot.

1) You could use third party data trackers, where you can adjust the length of the plan and the starting date. There are many of these available on Android. 2) If they did this, wouldn't they just be heading toward the direction of Freedom Mobile? 3) I'm still waiting for this. Many people have asked for this already, since accessing the site on mobile is quite cumbersome.

On android, data witness does a very good job.  It is free from the play store.

As for getting rid of the 90 day plan, I think that is a step backwards.  Having data carry over as long as possible is a good thing. I would be willing to pay a year in advance if they carry the 48 gigs over 360 days.

As for unlimited throttled data, I can see Public Mobile rejecting that outright.  No other carrier except Freedom has such an offering.  Public Mobile is not in competition with Freedom.

Suggestion for point #1:

Enter 4GB for the first month. Any remainder add to the data allotment for the second month, and repeat for the third. Should work on any OS.

Even the 30-day plans are reasonable prices compaired to the other carriers, the 90 day is just a bonus savings for buying a longer term.  If you have issues paying 90 days at a time, try setting aside the funds, or purchasing vouchers in 1/3 payments every 30 days.

Throttling data is a bad idea.  If I'm paying for data, I want it always the same speed so I know what I'm expecting.  Now I have wifi at home, and I generally don't use data when away from home, so I'm not affected by the cap on data in general, however I do realize that there are limits that need to be met, and I use my data in accordance with those limits.

As for the mobile app, please go and find the other suggestions in the Public Lab for this item, and bravo them.

And finally, these three ideas should have been listed separately, as they are all unique.

For idea #1: use the third party app for Android,  My Data Manager.  There is a prepaid plan option and you can select for a 90 day cycle. You do have to count out 90 days to get the date right: starting with  the date your plan starts would be the Start Date and the End date being the day your renewal kicks in at midnight (or 2am, as the system says). Example,  if you 90 days ends on the 3rd, enter 4th as the end date.

This app has been a great tracker to monitor my daily use so no worries on the relying on the phone's native tracker.
