dialling a phone number and extension

how do I dial a ten digit number pause for 3 seconds and dial a 4 digit extension?

Thanks for the reply. I was able to find the pause character from the settings as you mentioned. I was used to using the * and  # signs for pause and wait, but that kept being rejected by the TALK service, saying that I did not have VOICE enabled for my account (or something like that).

So pause is a preset duration then?

I recall something in my past that paused until you restarted it...with the send button I think.

The "pause" command is accessed by pressing * a bunch of times on many or most devices.

Dial the pause command (p) after the number and then extension. Save in contact list.

Which phone and dialer are you using

There should be settings or 3 dots someplace

Sometimes it's just left off the 0 

In my case I have it to the right of the enter line

I can't add 3 sec pause but I can add two 2 sec ones.
