it would be nice to have some of the add-ons that the bigger carriers have like Koodo has instant voicemail (voicemail to text) this is one feature I would absolutely love, even if I have to pay a few dollars for it
Also, Wi-Fi calling would be nice, And
Call control- I wouldn’t mind paying a few extra dollars for this as well if given the option in the add-ons..
Can somebody make these happen??
you guys do you have a good point about this being a third tier so obviously we won’t get all the bells and whistles, but if we had the option to pay for some of these features as extras through the add-ons, I don’t see why we can’t have some these features hopefully somebody can push this idea to the right team that can make this happen..
I wouldn’t mind paying 10$ extra per month for a bundle value pack that includes these 3 features.. i would find it useful. It would make this experience a lot better, would make it less likely to move to a different brand that does offer them

after all I decided that I’m going to be staying with Public Mobile. Because the bigger tiers charge you for everything. they ding you for every nickel and dime they can get.. it’s not worth it..

thank you very much I appreciate that tons. You and everyone else are great fellows. I mean if my Public community profile doesn’t get cancelled i may stop by sometimes.

The us features were always there, roaming packages for the us have always been there, they've had plans like the 50$ one before just more expensive in the past, long before the current brand reinvention with the 5G marketing campaign and brand refresh, they just wanted higher retention and, since 5G seems to be the standard now they wanted to be first out the gate with it on this tier. They haven't really added anything more than full network access, just with stripped features as is the standard (and unlimited data if you buy the highest priced plan), other then that and costs dropping in line with competitors there isn't much new.

That Moto I believe maybe Out-Of-Date, They can surely do Premium Add-Ons, The Tier 3 is more Obsolete now, that I think that Telus could surely try to rethink Outside of the Old Telephone Box, This Less for Less is More for the 20th Century, Not in today's Tech Needs and requirements
Besides, If that Less for Less was Literally, why the 5G, US Roaming then?

even if Public charges for these three features (Wi-Fi calling, call control, voicemail to MMS) I would’ve paid despite getting these features being free with Koodo. Because Public has the community which I really enjoy and will miss, i like the app and layout as well.
Koodo has an online forum similarly but it’s not nearly as vast as Public’s.. and koodo’s self serve layout isn’t as nice either.
I’m definitely going to keep my eyes open because maybe they will implement these features here one day, and if they do I’m gonna port back even if I have to pay extra for them.

@Proxima sad to see you go... but if you like PM, Koodo uses the same Telus/Bell network, so, you will enjoy it for sure

i’m actually in the process of changing over to Koodo, I have the same plan 39$ for 20gigs, do you have my self-serve to set up so I’m just waiting for my new Sim card in the mail.. it has all the features that I want- instant voicemail, wifi calling, and call control.. free of charge. I’m pretty excited. when I switched from virgin to public month ago I really missed having Wi-Fi calling and voicemail MMS. Although virgin doesn’t have call control but ive used Telus call control in the past and I missed it lots over the past few years…
Plus the Koodo website is so much better. Faster, less clunky. but I’m sure that will change if they introduce Ever Safe like Public.

If They had these features as Add-On's, that would at least be a better option, Like how the US Roaming is done

I have never understood why people come to the cheaper alternatives and say “gee I wish I could get charged the same price as the provider I just left for added features” makes no sense to me.

i am not sure if they will do that. Public Mobile is a Tier 3 provider and is supposed to provide only very basic features. 😞

My guess is the marketing will maintain some amount of separation between brands. If everything was identical then the point of having the brands become meaningless.
07-25-2023 12:21 PM
@Proxima - that is why Telus has different tiers, so you go to the company where you want what they provide.

@Proxima- As PM is a third tier carrier, a lot of the bells and whistles are not available here. It is unlikely that those features would be added any time soon. Those features (and others) are what allows the carriers to move people up from the lower tier up to the more expensive upper tier (Koodo/Telus) plans.
