when does a 10day USA addon expire?

Hi just curious if anyone knows how the timing of USA addons works.

is it:

1. 24 hour periods like a car rental start at 10pm EST  and ends at 10pm EST 10 days later.
2. calander days expiring on Toronto time. ie 10pm est  to 12:00 am est counts as one day.

I looked at the KB article and it says "This 10 day period will begin upon payment of the Add-on and will end 10 days after this date"  

I am assuming the second but it would also be good to know which timezone?

I asked the exact same question a few weeks ago.

After the clock strikes midnight 10 times, that is when it ends. So your first day may be short changed a few hours.
