two sim cards registered under the same email

Hi- wondering if anyone has a suggestion, since Public Mobile doesn't seem to be reachable. I registered a new SIM card for a phone, on my email, checked account on the Public Mobile site and it worked fine. A few weeks later, I bought another phone for my wife, got another SIM card, registered it on the same email address. Now, I can access the second phone account, but the original is gone. Is there a way to recover this account?

The second sim card....Did you activate a new account, pick or port a phone number, choose a plan, pay for it and happen to use the same email? Or did you access the existing account go to "change sim card" and enter the second sim card's number and put that in your wife's new phone?

@rchristian1 , for us, the happiest thing is hear that issue is resolved..

Hi @rchristian1 so you activated a new sim card for a phone, using your email address, and it worked fine - May I ask if that phone was yours or your wife's?

Then a few weeks later, you bought another phone for your wife, got another sim card, and registered the new sim card using the same email address, correct?  How did you register the new sim card?  Did you use the New Activation Portal?  If you did, the system would not allow you to use the same email.  I tried to activate a new sim card using the same email and the system won't let me.  See image below

Email - cannot use the same email addy.png

so, may I ask how you registered the second sim card?

If you logged in the self serve account of the first activated account and clicked change sim card, it won't let you as that function no longer works.  Change of sim card must now go through the moderators.

Was the first sim card you activated for your wife's old phone?  Then you bought your wife a new phone.  If this was the case, this would just be a phone change, no need to get a new sim card.  Just remove the sim card from the old phone and insert in the new phone.

Now you can access the second account but the first account is gone.  Do both phones have service?

I hope by now you have already contacted the moderators.  Expect a reply within 2 to 48 hours.  Keep an eye on the envelope icon on top right for a number to pop up... that would be the moderator's reply.

You will have to prove these two accounts are yours or yours and your wife.

Please keep us updated.  Thanks in advance

@hTideGnow : There's an old way of being able to change ones login email address of the self-serve. It doesn't change an internal account email address but it might be able to overcome this problem for this login.

I still wonder about case. Maybe someone types in their email address on an activation. Done. Then they activate another and I wonder if they get an error and try again but maybe with some caps. It's just a theory of the moment. We need to see how participative the OP wishes to be here.

You should search your email to see if you receive 1 or 2 Welcome emails, if just one, which one was it?  If you got 2 Welcome emails, then maybe you were using Alias by "mistake"? (Which is perfect in PM situations)

@Anonymous  , what is the backdoor method??

@rchristian1 : Did you get another welcome email when you activated the second account? Compare that email address to your first welcome email, email address.

There's a backdoor method to try on one of them if you're interested.

Edit: I suspect both accounts are functioning though right? You just can't log in to the first one right?

@rchristian1 :Or maybe you made typo on one of the emails and didn't notice, that would mean that both accounts are still active but one of the email is spelled wrong - either way you should just write to Moderator Team and give them the phone numbers or SIM cards for both you and your wife accounts and see what they can find out.

It sounds to me that you effectively did a SIM change, and perhaps didn't create a new account.

When did this "2nd account" get created?

If you used the Change SIM function (which users could do themselves up till a short while ago), the first account and SIM is deactivated.

@rchristian1 :Yeah only one email address can be used for each SIM account, so your old account must have been deleted in order for your new one to use same email - you should ask the Moderator Team what they can do by click bottom right white bubble or click top right envelope button.

@rchristian1 : Did you change case between activations? Maybe no caps at first and then maybe initials in caps or whatever your email address is?

I ask because this should not be allowed. But I have read of it happening. So I wonder.
