I setup a new public mobile account/sim. In transferring old number, I entered the wrong account number for the old number. I got a text saying it errored. Now things seem in limbo, as Public Mobile app already thinks my old number is the new number, and won't let me pick that number as a new one, but the transfer didn't work.

You'll need to provide the corrected account number of the carrier that you're leaving to Public Mobile. I have escalated this and Public Mobile will contact you shortly from the CSA_PM account.
