Hello,
I'd like to report a bug
I signed up to port my number, on the page it gives an overlay saying "Please wait while your activation is being processed." it hangs forever. The browser is otherwise responsive. This may be due to the Firefox uBlock Origin addon. It charged my credit card, but it never gave me the next page, or created my account, nor ported my number after 24hrs. My current phone provider says there no port request was made at all.
On my second attempt on a different browser everything went smootly
To avoid this error, I think the system should only charge me after it makes the port request. Will this money be automatically refunded or should I charge-back?
Thanks guys

A website should avoid using javascript for important functions, or charge a CC without creating the associated account, or at least sending out an instructional email. It may cause people headaches in the future, but it looks like things ended up better than expected!

I guess you're gone now but for others who might care to read...I only use an unhindered browser for forms and more complicated sites that might use all sorts of javascript and captcha's and such. I otherwise do most everything else in a "hindered" browser. Then I figure out what I can open in that browser on the site I used the unhindered browser on.

I am a little late to the discussion, often with multiple attempts at activation, and where charges have been taken, the SIM card will be locked and will not allow a "second use". This is a bit of protection against double charges. That said, there have been reports of double charges. With the buggy self serve, best to assume anything is possible.

You may mark this as solved, but the bug's still outstanding
Thanks
@aabbaaabbaa From what you describe it appears that PM puts a hold on your cc for the amount and since the activation did not go through the hold was released. I agree with you though that the hold should be created after the activation completes sucessfully.

This is why it's strongly suggested (not here 🙂 just generally) to use an unhindered browser to do these kinds of functions.
I don't think it's any kind of bug. I would say it's more that the site can't possibly accommodate any and every possible add-on someone might use.
Don't jump to a chargeback quite so soon. Give the moderators a chance to at least credit it back to your Available Funds for your next renewal.
